it’s night time once more, which allows me to put in some keyframes. I’ve animated a simple idle animation: first I created a 100 frame breathing cycle, then I layered in some head turns and fidgets to make it look less repeating (break the cycle). The key idea here was: K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid!). As artists we often like to overcomplicate things and add too many ideas into our work. This is a good first start – nothing fancy. Now, if the breathing doesn’t show up from game camera, I need to iterate and adjust – but for now, it will help us better understand whether it all plays nicely together. The head turns are too robotic and fast at this point – but that can easily be adjusted later on.
